With the slow down of the covid-19 cases in the Sultanate of Oman, The government has opened its border for visiting tourists starting last week.

Currently, Oman has an active case of 8217 until today’s date. Daily cases on average of 10-14 have been recorded every day with a very less date rate of a total of 1472.

All travelers inbounding to The Sultanate of Oman should provide the negative Covid-19 PCR test report during the arrival. All travelers should carry the test report not issued more than 90 hours from the date of departure. During the arrival, the passenger must undergo another PCR test on arrival.

The government has opened its border to the GCC nationals for entry beings on the 1st of October, with some mandatory requirements. The Oman airport has been opened since October for international and transit passengers as well on October 1.

As per the Government of Oman, the tourist visitor must also hold the confirmed hotel booking or the letter of sponsorship from the authorized local travel agency of Oman during entry. Before entering Oman, tourists must have international health insurance covering covid-19

Earlier in march 2019, Oman had stopped all the visitor tourist visas to curb against the COVID-19. As the mandatory requirement also needed the travelers to undergo 7 days of quarantine from the date of arrival, if the traveler is staying more than a week.

Oman local daily news has published, “The Supreme committee decided to allow the issuance of tourist visas to enter the Sultanate, provided that the arrival of tourists is within the framework of tourist groups organized by hotels and tourism companies,” 

The News has announced that the nationals of 103 countries are exempted from requiring entry visas for a period of ten days. These countries include 41 countries from Europe, 10 countries from South America, six Arab countries, and 46 other countries and regions of the world.
