The Government of Singapore has announced that the Border will be opening for Singapore for travelers from Taiwan from 18th December 2020.

Taiwan has been successful to fight against the COVID-19 with no single record of covid-19 cases for the past month.

Any nationality travelers who want to travel from Taiwan can apply for Air Travel Pass online. However, as the mandatory requirement, travelers must undergo a Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test at the time of arrival at the Singapore airport. The travelers also must have to spend consecutive stay in Taiwan for 14 days before the travel, and the traveler must take a direct flight from Taiwan.

If the passenger is cleared with PCR negative test, they are allowed for taking outdoor activities in Singapore without being in isolation and spend the quarantine. In case the travelers are found positive on the test, the passenger must bear the cost on their own.

As a precaution taken, the travelers must download the TraceTogether app on their mobile devices prior to departing for Singapore. The apps should be registered and activate before traveling to Singapore to enable the contact tracing process. The mobile application must be activated for the duration of stay or at least for 1 4 consecutive days after leaving Singapore.

Earlier, Singapore has made ease on the travel restrictions to some other travelers arriving from Australia, China Mainland, New Zealand, Brunei, and Vietnam. As per CAAS, the advisory will be updated with the country Taiwan for the travelers traveling from 18th December.

This latest initiative follows the earlier lifting of border restrictions for visitors from Australia, Brunei, mainland China, New Zealand, and Vietnam.
