The third Covid vaccine will be given to people in Wales today
People in Wales will be the first in the UK to get a new type of coronavirus vaccine.
The Moderna vaccine will be rolled out from Wednesday in Carmarthen. It was ruled safe and effective by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) back in January after stringent trials.
It is the third vaccine to be used in Wales, after the Oxford-AstraZeneca and Pfizer, to protect the population against Covid-19.
So far, more than 1.5 million people have been vaccinated against coronavirus across Wales. Everyone over 50 and all at-risk adults with underlying health conditions have also been offered the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine nationally.
