Dubai national carrier Emirates has introduced self-check-in and bag drop kiosks for its passengers. Currently, its service is available for customers at Terminal 3, Dubai International Airport traveling to all destinations except to the US, Canada, China, India, and Hong Kong.
The destinations which are not available for self-service are due to additional requirements from these destinations.
The Kiosks machine has been developed by Emirates in collaboration with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects and Dubai Airports. The kiosks provide the service of check-in, seat selections, printing boarding pass, and finally drop off their bags.
The Kiosks are fully self-service; however, Emirates staff will be in the area for any assistance required.
Currently, Emirates has installed eight self-service kiosks with 16 new self-bags drops off machines and provide support staff from Emirates check-in agents in reducing waiting time for customers during peak periods. More self-services facilities are planned to be added in the coming months.
Although the Kiosks is currently offering touch panel, it will be upgraded with new features with touchless and also allows the passenger to rebook the ticket on their own. The facilities are cleaned and disinfected regularly and hand sanitizers to are available for customers to use.
